The American Institute of Architects-PA will host a Designing Schools for Success Discussion in on February 21 from 9 a.m. to Noon at Harrisburg University in Harrisburg.
This panel event will build on AIA Pennsylvania’s September 2016 AEC Education Summit, which brought nearly 150 design professionals, K-12 education experts, and state legislators together to discuss the integral role and responsibilities of the AEC Industry in advocating for a brighter future in K-12 school construction.
Designing Schools for Success will focus on the PlanCon process, building lifecycle and maintenance, how learning spaces have changed, public involvement in planning, high performance schools, and the value of an architect.
The panel will feature Phillip Foreman, AIA, The Foreman Group, Scott Compton, AIA, Klein and Hoffman, Vern McKissick, AIA, McKissick Associates Architects, Andrew Ellsworth, LEED AP, Green Building Alliance (from Pittsburgh) and Christopher Brooks, LEED AP, Acoustic Distinctions.
Each panelist will showcase their subject matter expertise within their discipline and explain how their role and/or responsibility contributes to the overall design process. The panel will be moderated by Jay Clough, AIA, KCBA Architects.
