The Fish and Boat Commission Wednesday reported 30,000+ students in 283 classrooms across Pennsylvania participated in the PA Trout In The Classroom Program. A joint project of the Commission and the PA Council of Trout Unlimited.
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation-PA Wednesday applauded Montour County commissioners, for adopting a Clean Water Counts resolution, calling on state officials to make clean water a top priority for the Commonwealth.

Exelon Corporation Thursday announced it will move forward to shut down the Clinton and Quad Cities nuclear plants, given the lack of progress on Illinois energy legislation.
On May 25, Exelon Corporation announced the Three Mile Island nuclear plant did not clear in the PJM capacity auction for the 2019-2020 planning year and will not receive capacity revenue for that period.
This is the second consecutive year that Three Mile Island Unit 1 failed to clear the PJM capacity auction. Although the plant is committed to operate through May 2018, the plant faces continued economic challenges and Exelon is exploring all options to return it to profitability.
PennLive.com and LancasterOnlilne.com this week reported an Exelon spokesperson as saying the failure to sell at the capacity auction does not mean TMI will be shutting down, but it is an option.
Weis Markets recently announced it has surpassed its goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20 percent by the year 2020.
Linking two state parks and threading through forestlands in three counties, Standing Stone Trail in central Pennsylvania today was honored by Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and other state officials for attaining the statewide honor of 2016 Trail of the Year.
Small and medium-sized public community and nonprofit non-community water systems may qualify for free engineering assistance for drinking water systems under DEP’s Professional Engineering Services Program.
