The Brodhead Watershed Association will celebrate the beauty of Cherry Valley on June 11, at the sixth annual Cherry Valley Festival.
The family-friendly event will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. rain or shine at the Josie Porter Farm, 6514 Cherry Valley Road, Stroudsburg, Monroe County.
The fun-filled day – designed to highlight the unique valley environment and raise awareness of conservation efforts – will include nature walks, farm tours, arts and crafts, demonstrations and environmentally themed vendors.
Educational presentations will include “Artisan Coffee,” “History of Garlic” and “All About Bats!”
Food and beverages will be available. Live entertainment throughout the day will be provided by strolling musicians from the Pocono Bluegrass & Folk Society.
Proceeds from the popular silent auction fundraiser will be dedicated to supporting the event and the host farm. The Josie Porter Farm aims to connect people to the earth through agriculture, education and community while fostering a sustainable food system.
Admission is free; plenty of parking and a golf-cart shuttle service make it easy to get around.
