Phipps Conservancy BioBlitz Festival June 5 In Pittsburgh

On June 5 the Phipps Conservancy and Botanical Gardens at One Schenley Park in Pittsburgh will host its first-ever BioBlitz Festival to bring together volunteer scientists, , families, students, teachers and community members to conduct a biological survey of all of the living species in a given area.
This important new form of citizen science aids the documentation of regional biodiversity and allows scientists to learn more about the environment and how we can support its conservation.
By participating, you'll witness firsthand the amazing biodiversity right here in our local parks, participate in real-time science, create unique art, browse local vendors' products and goods, engage with interactive exhibits, enjoy live music and much more!
This event is free to the public and no advance registration is required.
For more information, visit the Phipps Conservancy BioBlitz Festival webpage or contact Lorren Kezmoh, Science Education and Research Outreach Coordinator, by sending email to: lkezmoh@phipps.conservatory.org.
