Kettle Creek Needs Help With Disabled/Recovering Veterans Fly Fishing Event May 6-8

The Kettle Creek Watershed Association in Tioga, Potter and Clinton counties is hosting a 3-day weekend Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing outing for disabled/recovering military veterans on Kettle Creek May 6-8.
The PHWFF program is designed to assist disabled/recovering military veterans deal with injuries and/or adjust to civilian life with the peaceful, therapeutic activity of fishing.  PHWFF is dedicated to aiding in the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled military service personnel through fly fishing.
KCWA will be housing, feeding and outfitting these military veterans selected by regional PHWFF from the Altoona/State College area VA hospitals for the 3 day weekend.  We will be purchasing fish (a large expense) to stock the stream for a greater chance of a successful therapeutic fishing experience.
All weekend housing, meals, snacks, soda/water and necessary fishing supplies will be furnished at no cost to the participants.  Each participant will have a KCWA ‘mentor.’  Imagine how welcome they will feel if they are first-time visitors to the Kettle Creek Valley.
Please help KCWA with this weekend outing.  Since all meals will be prepared locally by volunteers (no catering, no restaurants), we believe we can feed each participant for about $20.00.
We are looking for business donors as well as individual donors.  Ham & beef roasts are needed for the Saturday night KCWA banquet honoring these vets.

Any monetary donations will be appreciated to help with the many expenses like stocking.  Please make out checks to KCWA, mail to P. O. Box 317, Cross Fork, PA, 17729, with PHWFF in the lower left corner on the front of the envelope and the same in the lower left 'memo' or 'for' line on your check.  Sorry but we cannot take credit cards for this.
KCWA is a 501(c)(3) organization and your donation is tax deductible.  All money donated will be used locally.  If there is any excess money, it will be kept in a separate account for next year’s local PHWFF 3-day outing.
