The Department of Environmental Protection, along with its partners at the Eastern Pennsylvania Alliance for Clean Transportation and Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities, invites fleet managers, municipalities, school districts, incorporated nonprofit entities, and businesses to Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant seminars scheduled for March in Lycoming and Centre Counties.
The seminars are scheduled for:
— March 15, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at DEP’s Northcentral Regional Office, 208 West Third Street, Williamsport.
— March 18, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, 253 Transfer Road, Bellefonte.
Seminar attendees will hear from industry experts how alternative fuels are helping Pennsylvania move away from imported petroleum fuels to homegrown, cleaner-burning, and affordable alternatives including natural gas, propane, biodiesel, and electricity.
The Centre County seminar also will include a tour of the authority’s new compressed natural gas fueling station.
DEP staff will provide a review of the AFIG grant program eligibility and application requirements.
Funding is available under the AFIG program to help fund four project types: alternative fuel vehicle retrofit or purchase, alternative fuel refueling infrastructure, biofuel use, and innovative technology.
The deadline for applications is April 29.
The free seminars are open to eligible applicants only. Seating is limited and the registration deadline is March 11 for Lycoming County and March 15 for Centre County.
Those interested can register for the workshop by contacting Michelle Ferguson in DEP’s Northcentral Regional Office of Pollution Prevention and Energy Assistance, by sending email to: miferguson@pa.gov, or by calling 570-327-3783. Please include the attendee’s name and organization.
