The 11th Annual Grassland Evaluation Student Contest will take place at Penn State’ Ag Progress Days Site near State College on October 1 and it’s not too late to register your student teams. Entries are due September 22.
This is a great hands-on opportunity for students statewide, with the chance of receiving scholarship funds toward college! The contest is aimed at educating youth about the value and benefits of grazing and other conservation practices.
The contest is open to any 4-person FFA, 4-H, or “freelance” team. The first place team will earn a $500 scholarship, with second place earning a $250 scholarship. The highest scoring individual will also receive a $500 scholarship.
The Grassland Evaluation Contest is hosted by Southwest Project Grass and sponsored by the PA Grazing Lands Coalition, Somerset County Conservation District, and Ag Progress Days where the contest is held in Rock Springs, PA.
