Recent samples of mosquitoes taken from Munhall & Homestead Boroughs have found to be infected with West Nile virus. In response, the Allegheny County Health Department will treat neighborhoods using a truck-mounted, Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayer on August 5, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The treatment is intended to decrease mosquito populations and reduce the risk of virus transmission.
