The Abington Friends School in Jenkintown, Montgomery County, will host an Eco Fest on May 2 from 10:00 to noon for ages 3 to 14 at the school located at 575 Washington Lane.
Build forts and fairy houses, create sunprints, natural dyes, and insect mazes. Boat building from recycled materials, creating giant marble mazes, designing musical instruments and a recycled materials art project with the Penn State Art Program round out the fun!
From 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. will hold an e-cycling and paper shredding drop-off. You can also drop off crayons to recycle through the Crayola Colorcycle Program.
From 10:00 to 1:00 there will be a Sustainability Fair where local organizations and vendors will be on hand to share information about sustainable goods, services and practices. Check out educational activities, informational materials, samples and items for sale! Participants include Creekside Co-op, Briar Bush Nature Center, and more!
