Not surprisingly, when surveyed, people say they want to help their state parks and forests, but don’t know how. We all know investing a little sweat equity will reap the rewards that come with it: fresh air, gorgeous scenery, toned muscles, and a do-good dose of satisfaction.
DCNR’s Conservation Volunteer Program is always looking for an extra hand. Check out the Conservation Volunteer website and the handy calendar and project list, which makes it easy for you to pick your spot and chore.
If you are a “regular” at a certain park or forest, perhaps they have a “friends” group you could join. Consult the PA Parks and Forests Foundation’s website to learn more.
