The PA Urban and Community Forestry Council will hold another of its luncheon webinars on June 16 on Designing Greener Parking Lots starting at noon.
As parking lots continue to consumer more and more land in our communities, they have become significant sources of heat loads, visual blight, water and air pollution. Sometimes trees are planted only to become "Everbrowns" because they are planted high and dry, doused with salt laden snow, and given little room for rooting.
Learn how these seas of asphalt can be transformed through good design, species selection, site modification, and proper installation. Explore the use of structural soils, stormwater infiltration and community codes that lead to greener parking lots.
