Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Thursday announced a video by Clean and Green Harrisburg with Tri County Community Action in Dauphin County is the winner of the 2014 Great American Cleanup of PA Video Contest.
The video captured residents of all ages cleaning up a section of their neighborhood. The cleanup resulted in the removal and proper disposal of 4.5 tons of electronics, over 160,000 pounds of trash, over 250 tires involving more than 250 volunteers! The video also included interviews with the participating volunteers.
There were two runners up named: the Academy Neighborhood Cleanup of Erie and the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy in Montgomery County.
The Academy Neighborhood Cleanup was their first ever neighborhood cleanup. Five teams of 23 volunteers picked up 22 bags of trash from 16 city blocks.
Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy, with its community partners, submitted video of their annual stream cleanup. Teams used canoes to collect 546 bags of trash, 128 tires, and 3,257 pounds of scrap metal. Forty-four sites were cleaned by 730 volunteers.
The first place winner receives a $200 cash prize and the two runners up will receive a cash prize of $100 each.

Winners were chosen according to who received the most likes on Facebook during the voting period.
