-- PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - October 3 [PaEN]


-- DEP published formal notice in the October 3 PA Bulletin announcing the issuance of an Air Quality Plan Approval for the Shell Petrochemical Plant in n Potter and Center Townships, Beaver County.  The notice begins the formal appeal period.  (PA Bulletin, page 6565)  Read more here.


-- The Public Utility Commission will hold a meeting October 7 to hear a presentation from KeyLogic, LLC on a preliminary report on recommendations for electric grid modernization to support the redevelopment of 21 deactivated energy sites across the state. (formal notice)   The meeting will be held in Hearing Room 1 of the Keystone Building from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The meeting will be available online via the PUC’s livestream.  Read more here.


-- The Public Utility Commission announced advanced proposed safeguards aimed at protecting Pennsylvania consumers and preserving electric reliability during periods when electricity supplies may be strained at its meeting on October 1. The Commission approved a Tentative Order seeking public comment on proposed changes to how Pennsylvania electric utilities prepare for and respond to periods of tight electricity supply, including new procedures for electric distribution companies addressing large loads such as data centers. -- DEP published notice in the October 3 PA Bulletin inviting comments on an initial State Only Air Quality Operating Permit for natural gas boilers and backup generators at the TECfusions Keystone LLC New Kensington Data Center site in Upper Burrell Township, Westmoreland County.  (PA Bulletin, page 6542)  Read more here.


-- DEP published notice in the October 3 PA Bulletin announcing the Westmoreland Conservation District issued a PAG-02 General Stormwater Permit (PAC650493) to TECfusions Keystone LLC for the data center project site located in Upper Burrell and Washington Townships, Westmoreland County. Aggrieved persons have 30 days from this notice to file an appeal with the Environmental Hearing Board.  [PA Bulletin, page 6555)


-- DEP published notice in the October 3 PA Bulletin announcing an administrative order has been issued related to the Sharon Steel Corp Farrell Works Disposal Area Superfund Site saying the cleanup remedy for the site in Hermitage and Farrell, Mercer County is now complete.  (PA Bulletin, page 6559)   Read more here.


-- The Department of Labor and Industry Uniform Construction Code Review and Advisory Council published notice in the October 3 PA Bulletin inviting comments on updated sections of the 2024 International Codes Council building codes. Comment deadline February 2.


-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the October 3 PA Bulletin announcing actions taken at the September business meeting.
