Sustainable Pittsburgh Hosts Nov. 5 Webinar - The Affordability Crisis Is A Sustainability Crisis - Need For Action To Reduce Barriers To Sustainability, Strengthening Communities In SW PA

The
Sustainable Pittsburgh organization will host a November 5 webinar from Noon to 1:15 p.m. on The Affordability Crisis and how rising costs for housing, utilities, food, transportation and other necessities are creating barriers to affordable homes and sustainability.

This virtual conversation will bring together a policy perspective on the federal legislation and Pennsylvania’s implementation landscape, an on-the-ground practitioner working at the intersection of housing repairs and energy improvements, and a poverty-alleviation perspective on how essential costs interact within household budgets.

Speakers will examine the funding, program coordination, contractor capacity, consumer protections, and state and local actions needed to preserve affordable homes, reduce barriers to sustainability, and strengthen communities across Southwestern Pennsylvania.
