During the July 15 inspection, a “property owner near the pipeline showed us some retention and fishing ponds down gradient from the pipeline that contained a significant amount of sediment.”
DEP noted large areas of the right-of-way for the pipelines were not reclaimed or temporarily stabilized to prevent erosion.
DEP said these were the same conditions found during a July 9 inspection, but no violations were issued.
A violation was issued during the July 15 inspection.
DEP returned to do a follow-up inspection on July 20 and found some work had been done, but issued another violation for “failure to temporarily stabilize the site to protect it from accelerated erosion and sedimentation.”
DEP requested a written response to the violations by July 29.
