Pennsylvania Solar Center, Philadelphia Energy Authority Host Dec. 12 Webinar On How Nonprofits, Schools, Faith Groups, Municipalities Can Use Federal Incentives To Go Solar

The
Pennsylvania Solar Center and Philadelphia Energy Authority will host a webinar December 12 from Noon to 1:15 p.m. on how nonprofits, schools, municipalities and faith groups can take advantage of federal incentives to go solar.

As part of the federal Inflation Reduction Act of 2023, tax-exempt entities that install solar, including nonprofits, municipalities, schools, etc., are permitted to claim an elective pay (also known as direct pay) option that is the equivalent to the tax credits available to for-profit entities.

These benefits include a 30% (or more in some cases) reimbursement from the IRS for the total cost of the system.

Speakers include--

-- Christine DiMenna, Principal, Clifton Larson Allen (West Hartford, CT)

-- Lisa Shulock, Director of Commercial Programs, Philadelphia Energy Authority

-- Leo Kowalski, Director of Transformation, PA Solar Center

In addition, the webinar will review the current timelines and guidelines to qualify for these benefits that were recently changed in July by Congress.

The program will also explore how the PA Solar Center's GET Solar technical partner program helps entities to explore solar, identify financing, and find a qualified contractor for their project.

Information will also be available on the Solarize Greater Philadelphia Program that is a joint initiative between the PA Solar Center and the Philadelphia Energy Authority to help non-residential entities to save money by going solar.

Who should attend?--

-- Nonprofit, faith community, school, and municipal leaders and staff

-- Elected officials and staff
