The Climate Stewards continuing education and service project equips certified PA Master Naturalists with the latest climate science and communication tools.
The first cohort group participated in more than forty hours of training and are now ready to begin their climate education and stewardship projects.
PA Master Naturalist is partnering with the University of California’s Environmental Stewards Program to bring this model to Pennsylvania—making the Commonwealth the third state outside of California to adopt it.
Over the next few years, we’ll evaluate the program’s growth and impact before considering whether to offer it more broadly to the public.

Master Naturalist In Action
Montgomery County PA Master Naturalist T. Garber recently planted 100 new trees at the Pennsburg Nature Preserve—restoring habitat, improving water quality, and strengthening a beloved community space.
Supported by the Trees for Watersheds grant and powered by local volunteers, this project reflects what PA Master Naturalists do every day: bring healing and renewal to the places we all depend on.
