PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - July 26

The following notices were published in the July 26 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- DEP published notices in the July 26 PA Bulletin inviting comments on Chapter 102, Chapter 105 and Section 401 Water Quality Certification applications for a Texas Eastern Transmission, LP project to daylight four pipelines for 5.33 miles to allow for underground longwall coal mining. (PA Bulletin, page 5052)

The project known as the Longwall Mining Panel M1 Project will involve excavating and elevating two 30-inch and two 36-inch pipelines in Center and Richhill Townships, Greene County above a CONSOL coal mine.  Read more here.

Land Recycling/Brownfield Cleanups

-- Monroe Energy Trainer - Quill Release: DEP received a Final Report on the remediation of soil contaminated with inorganics and other organics to the Statewide Health Standard for the refinery located in Marcus Hook Borough, Delaware County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5042) 

-- Coterra Energy, Inc. - E.Bunnell Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP sent a Technical Deficiency letter on a  Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with ethylene glycol to meet the Statewide Health Standard at the pad located in Dimock Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 5043) 

2025 Act 2 Oil & Gas Facility Pollution Cleanups

So far in 2025, DEP received or acted on 109 Act 2 Land Recycling notices related to oil and gas facility site cleanups.
