Registration Open! Shamokin Creek Restoration Alliance June 4-5 Mine Pools As Beneficial Resources Conference At Bucknell University

The Northumberland County-based
Shamokin Creek Restoration Alliance is now accepting registrations for the Mine Pools As Beneficial Resource Conference to be held at Bucknell University June 4-5.

This event will gather experts from various backgrounds to discuss innovative approaches to mine pool utilization, management, and remediation strategies. 

Join us in sharing knowledge and fostering connections that can lead to sustainable solutions for our Coal Region communities.

Presentations will include--

-- Geothermal Energy From Mine Pools

-- Needed Investigation and Characterization of Mine Pools

-- Pumped Underground Storage Hydropower (PUSH) in Abandoned Mines

-- Coal Region As Sources of Rare Earth Elements, Critical Minerals

-- How Are You Going To Pay For That?

-- Coal Region History, Industrial Heritage, Organizing Community Involvement
