Appalachian Chapter Of The Audubon Society Accepting Applications For Tom Johnson Memorial Scholarship To The Mountains To Sea Birding For Teens Camp In Maine

Applications are now being accepted by the
Appalachian Chapter of the Audubon Society for the Tom Johnson Memorial Scholarship To the Mountains to Sea Birding For Teens Camp at Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine June 29 to July 4.

These scholarships are offered to two students interested in ornithology (ages 14-17) each summer and include a week of instruction and activities. The deadline to apply is January 31.

Hog Island Audubon Camp has a rich history in American Ornithology with its first bird instructor, Roger Tory Peterson, to the birthplace of Audubon’s Project Puffin. 

Hog Island is operated by the National Audubon Society under the Seabird Institute. 

Appalachian Audubon welcomes applications from Cumberland, Dauphin, northern York and Perry counties.  Click Here for a map of the region the chapter serves.
