DEP: Shell Petrochemical Plant Title V Air Quality Permit Application Complete, Now Posted On DEP's Website; Comment Period Opening Soon

The Department of Environmental Protection posted a note on its Shell Petrochemical Plant webpage that on July 2 DEP determined the Title V Air Quality Permit Application submitted by Shell is administratively complete and the application was
posted on DEP's website.

DEP will now publish a notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin announcing it has received the permit application which will begin an initial 30 day public comment period and DEP’s review of the application.

Shell submitted the application on June 19 as a result of a request from DEP on February 22 to submit a full Title V permit.  Read more here.

On May 25, DEP published notice in the PA Bulletin it extended Shell’s three temporary Air Quality Construction Permits now covering the facility until the full Title V Operating Permit is issued by DEP.  (PA Bulletin, page 2895)     Read more here.
