DEP To Hold June 20 Hearing On Stormwater Permit For A 92+ Acre Commercial Development In Tunkhannock Twp., Monroe County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the May 18 PA Bulletin announcing a June 20 hearing on an individual Stormwater Permit for a 92.5 acre commercial development by  I80-115 C-1 Site, LLC in Tunkhannock Twp., Monroe County.  (

The hearing will be held at the Tunkhannock Township Fire Hall, 1539 Long Pond Road in Long Pond from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The development is a six lot commercial/industrial project, including a donut shop/pizza parlor, pharmacy, two (2) fast food restaurants, convenience store with gas pumps, office building, truck stop/restaurant, and two (2) warehouses, including roads, parking, utilities and stormwater management facilities.  (PA Bulletin, page 1720)

The project would impact Exceptional Value wetlands leading to Mud Pond Run (Exceptional Value) and Tunkhannock Creek (Exceptional Value).
