Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy Seeking Trash Pickers, Tree Huggers, Creek Walkers, and Do-Gooders For April 15 Cleanup

The
Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy is set to host its annual watershed-wide Stream Clean-up on Saturday, April 15th

This year, the Conservancy has 130 sites and a goal for over 1,700 volunteers – making this the largest single-day stream clean-up in the state!

The scope of the event reaches all over the watershed and surrounding areas, from Norristown, Montgomery County to Quakertown, Bucks County and beyond.

General volunteers will collect trash and debris along the creekside and nearby parks and roadways from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, with regional pick-up crews collecting bagged trash from 12pm - 3pm.

Whether it be a plastic bottle or a piece of scrap metal, objects found in or near the creek negatively affect local waterways and the communities they serve. Things like contamination and habitat destruction result when communities don’t pick up or clean waste.

Last year we hit record numbers with 1,433 volunteers, 1,378 bags of trash and 255 tires. This year is shaping up to be even bigger and we need your help to make it possible!

Event statistics, including tire count and total pounds of trash, will be available to the public during the week following the clean-up.
