DEP Clean Water Academy Releases New Course On Evaluating Legacy Sediments & Stream Restoration Using Oil Creek, York County As Case Study

DEP’s Clean Water Academy has just released a new online course designed to introduce 
legacy sediments water quality impairment and stream restoration using Oil Creek in York County as a case study.

The case study will demonstrate different aspects relating to the legacy sediment impairment of Oil Creek in York County.  Historical photographs and maps will be evaluated along with the features observed on site. Soil stratigraphy from exploratory trenches will also be evaluated.

The course includes segments on site history, legacy sediment erosion hotspots, targeting water quality improvement, along with supporting documents.
