The Oil and Gas Threat Map can display data about the risk of increased cancer and respiratory health rates at the county level.
Although scientific literature shows that health impacts are also associated at distances greater than one-half mile, Earthworks conservatively uses one-half mile because it is the distance at which these impacts have been most clearly correlated.
Threat Map users can also enter their own address to see if they live in a threat zone.
Earthworks, Clean Air Task Force, and FracTracker Alliance did the research and provided data that FracTracker Alliance used to build the Oil & Gas Threat Map.
Visit the Earthworks Oil & Gas Threat Map webpage for more information.
