The Department of Environmental Protection Wednesday announced it will hold a combined public meeting and hearing on April 19 to discuss the proposed Air Quality plan approval submitted by Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co., LLC (Transco) for construction of a combustion turbine and emergency generator at Compressor Station 520 located in Mifflin Township, Lycoming County.
The proposed project will provide the facility with additional compression capacity to support the expansion of their gas pipeline network in the region.
The event will be held at the Salladasburg Elementary School, 3490 State Route 287, Jersey Shore starting at 6:00 p.m.
The public meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. Staff from DEP’s Air Quality Program will explain the application review process and applicable regulations. Transco officials will provide an overview of the project. The presentations will be followed by a brief question and answer session with the local community.
DEP will accept testimony at the public hearing, which will begin at 7:15 p.m. Those wishing to testify should register onsite prior to the hearing. Testimony is limited to five minutes per person and will be recorded by a court reporter for transcription into a written record.
Written testimony of any length will also be accepted during the hearing, or by submission before 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 to Muhammad Zaman, Environmental Program Manager, Department of Environmental Protection, Air Quality Program, 208 West Third Street, Suite 101, Williamsport, PA 17701.
DEP will respond in writing to all testimony, both oral and written, that is received by the above deadline and is relevant to the proposed plan approval.
