River Network Seeking Nominations For National River Hero Award

The River Network is now seeking nominations for its national River Hero Award to recognize and celebrate people whose efforts to protect and restore their local waters have been extraordinary in scope, scale, impact and heart.   The deadline for nominations is January 20.
River Heroes are nominated by peers, selected by peers and celebrated by peers at the annual River Rally to be held May 8-11 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Past River Heroes Award winners from Pennsylvania include: John Linkes (2016), for his leadership in the Roaring Run and Kiskiminetas Watershed Associations in Armstrong County;  John Klunk (2004), founder of the Codorus Monitoring Network in York County; and David Hess (2002), former Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.
