Keep PA Beautiful Welcomes New Staff To Fight Illegal Dumping Across Pennsylvania

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Wednesday announced the addition of two new members to its staff, Fred Siekkinen and Dana Rockwell, to help bolster its fight against illegal dumping across the state.
"Fred and Dana share the values and vision of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and will serve as great resources to the organization and the communities we serve. The combination of their experience and expertise will provide great insight as we advance the Illegal Dump Free PA Program and our mission to empower Pennsylvanians to make our communities clean and beautiful.  Both bring a fresh perspective and I know they will be assets to the organization as we move forward," states Shannon Reiter, President of Keep PA Beautiful.
Fred Siekkinen recently joined the KPB staff in the position of Enforcement Support Field Operative. Siekkinen retired from the Department of Environmental Protection as an Environmental Protection Specialist/Investigator.
He has nearly 20 years of experience as a lecturer/facilitator with the Northeast Environmental Enforcement Project to train law enforcement personnel in conducting more thorough investigations and processing illegal dumpsites.
Siekkinen holds a Master of Environmental Studies Degree from Ohio University.
Dana Rockwell joined the staff as a Surveillance Camera Technician. Rockwell is the Founder of the local environmental group, Friends of Starrucca Creek, consisting of 325 members.
Dana has conducted annual community cleanups since 2012, collecting more than 30 tons of trash and 3,000 tires removed from local creeks, rail trails & roadsides. He was the recipient of the August 2015 Keep America Beautiful volunteer spotlight and the 2015 PA Environmental Council - Environmental Partnership Award.
Dana is a Susquehanna Depot Borough Councilman and Board Member of the Rail Trail Council of Northeast Pennsylvania.
Dana holds a Bachelor of Science, Biology, from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science, Nursing, from Binghamton University. Dana is currently a registered nurse at Wilson Hospital, New York.
Both Seikkinen and Rockwell will work with local governments, communities, enforcement agencies, and district magistrates statewide, to identify and hold accountable individuals and businesses that choose to dump their trash illegally.
They well work through IllegalDumpFreePA.org, an innovative KPB program launched in 2015 that provides surveillance camera loans, training and support to Pennsylvania municipalities and community groups.
