POSTPONED: DEP Meeting On Chrin Landfill Expansion Feb. 24 In Northampton County

[DEP postponed this meeting on Thursday. Will reschedule.] The Department of Environmental Protection Monday announced it has rescheduled a public meeting to answer questions regarding Chrin Landfill’s permit application to expand its existing facility in Williams Township, Northampton County.
The new date for the meeting is February 24th from 6-9 p.m. It will take place at the same location: Wilson Area High School, 424 Warrior Lane, Easton, PA 18042.
The original meeting was set for Monday, January 25th, but had to be postponed when the Wilson Area School District closed due to heavy snowfall.
During the meeting, department staff will answer questions about the permit review process. Also, staff from Chrin Landfill will answer questions regarding the expansion itself.
Chrin Landfill filed the original expansion application on July 14, 2015. The company is requesting an expansion of the landfill permit area by approximately 30-acres and the disposal area by approximately 33-acres. The application was accepted as complete by the department on November 9, 2015.
A copy of Chrin’s permit application can be viewed at DEP’s Northeast Regional Office (NERO) located at 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, 18701 or the DEP’s Bethlehem District Office located at 4530 Bath Pike, Bethlehem 18017.
