Sen. Yudichak Named Minority Chair Senate Environmental Committee

Sen. John Yudichak (D-Luzerne) was named Minority Chair of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee this week.
He succeeds Sen. Ray Musto (D-Luzerne) who retired at the end of the 2010 session.
His appointment gives the Northeast a voice on the content of natural gas drilling bills.
Sen. Yudichak was elected to the Senate last year, but has served as a member of the House since 1999. In the House he served on the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee.
In the House, he voted for a Marcellus Shale natural gas severance tax, expansion of the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards and in favor of a temporary moratorium on gas drilling on State Forest lands.
