-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the November 23 PA Bulletin the Executive Director gave his approval to or renewed 42 general water use permits in October for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Lycoming, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming counties. This brings the total general water permits approved by the SRBC in 2024 to 274. Read more here.
-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the November 23 PA Bulletin of water withdrawal projects approved for minor modifications in October, including one for Blackhill Energy, LLC shale gas driller in Bradford County.
-- The Shapiro Administration announced the Department of Environmental Protection has reduced its permit backlog by 75 percent since November 1, 2023 – and has completely eliminated the backlog for oil and gas permits. Read more here.

-- DEP published notice in the November 23 PA Bulletin announcing changes to the list of companies certified to perform radon-related activities in Pennsylvania. (PA Bulletin, page 7632)
-- DEP published notice in the November 23 PA Bulletin announcing the use of 40 to 50 tractor trailer loads of fly ash-- 1,150 tons-- for structural fill to expand a parking area and a hay storage area at an unknown location on property owned by someone by the name of Davis. The notice looked like it was photocopied from an original document. -- The Department of Agriculture published notice in the November 23 PA Bulletin announcing the issuance of a Firewood Quarantine Order for firewood from outside the state or traveling through the state unless it is heat treated to prevent the spread of invasive species under the authority of the Plant Pest Act of 1992. This order replaces a Firewood Quarantine Order issued in 2010. Read more here.
-- The Department of Health published notice in the November 23 PA Bulletin announcing the lifeguard certification authorities that meet state requirements. Lifeguards must be certified by these authorities to work at local, county and state recreational facilities.
-- The Game Commission published notice in the November 23 PA Bulletin of a temporary statewide fire ban on State Game Lands. [Note: The ban was lifted on November 22.]
