30 Volunteers At 2nd Century Alliance, Litter Lifters Of West Vincent Litter Cleanup Collect 168 Bags Of Litter, TVs, Lawnmower, 300 Political Yard Signs In Chester County

On November 9, 30 volunteers organized by
2nd Century Alliance and Litter Lifters of West Vincent collected 168 bags of litter, 5 dumped TVs, 6 bikes, a baby stroller, a lawnmower, and over 300 political campaign and business yard signs in Coatesville, Chester County.

Shakira Davis, of 2nd Century Alliance worked closely with Beth Intoccia of the Litter Lifters of West Vincent to organize this massive effort.

The main corridor of Coatesville, which is Lincoln Highway- as well as Rt 82 which leads into the city,  was given attention.

All political signs will be recycled through an effort initiated by Keep Chester County Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.

Special thanks goes out to Lieutenant Ollis- Coatesville Police, and Trooper McKee - Pennsylvania State Police who provided excellent safety support for the Rt 82 cleanup.

Coatesville City Hall provided Litter Crew Ahead Signs, and Coatesville police officers managed the set up of signs.

Because the Litter Lifters of West Vincent have an Adopt-A-Highway contract with PennDOTt, PennDOT will haul away all of the piles of litter collected by the volunteers.

Thank you to the following partners:  Wawa, Kings Tavern, The Little Chef, AJ Blosenski/ Waste Connections, The Marriott in Coatesville, White Glove of Exton, Turkey Hill, Animated Brewing, and Chop House Grille.

When government, residents, and businesses work together- great things can happen!
