Dr. Bern Sweeney On Conestoga River Study
Join Stroud on August 1 for a special lecture by Bern Sweeney, Ph.D., celebrating Ruth Patrick, Ph.D., and her groundbreaking study of the Conestoga River.
Dr. Patrick and a team of scientists sampled 152 sites along the Conestoga in 1948. This was the first time a stream was studied so extensively, and it helped shape how we study streams and rivers today.
2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the study’s publication in 1949.
The program will be held at the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster starting at 6:00 p.m.
Visit the Dr. Ruth Patrick webpage at The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University to learn more about this amazing pioneer.
