PA Resources Council Offers Free Statewide Recycling Webinar On Earth Day, April 22

On April 22, more than one billion people around the world will celebrate Earth Day, which annually encourages individuals, communities, organizations, and governments to take action to protect the planet.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, each American produces approximately 4.4 pounds of waste every day.  While much of this waste is recyclable in some way, typically only about 30 percent finds its way to the proper receptacle.

Join Pennsylvania Resources Council in celebrating Earth Day — Monday, April 22 — by taking part in a free 60-minute webinar providing practical tips for simplifying your life.

“Earth Day reminds us that we have opportunities to improve our world every day – wasting less, reusing, and recycling,” according to PRC Executive Director Darren Spielman. “PRC is proud to help Pennsylvanians become environmental stewards by teaching government, businesses, and residents to waste less each day.”

The free PRC Recycling & Waste Reduction webinar takes place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22.  Advance registration is requested by April 21.

“An average person creates 4.4 pounds of waste each day, but there are easy ways to reduce this number and to recycle much of what we can’t avoid wasting,” said Spielman.  “During the webinar, PRC’s recycling expert will discuss curbside collection, hard-to-recycle materials, pharmaceutical disposal, and then encourage participants to ask questions during the Q&A session.”

In-person and online, PRC teaches people how to protect vital resources by taking action in their lives and in and around their homes.
