An important part of the solar development process is connecting a newly installed solar system into the appropriate electrical grid, commonly referred to as “interconnection.”
The interconnection process is a multi-stage, multi-party effort to ensure a solar system runs reliably to generate renewable energy benefits for the grid, communities and the region.
The Public Utility Commission will provide a general overview of Pennsylvania's interconnection rules (Chapter 75, Subchapter C of Pennsylvania's Public Utility Code).
Representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy's Interconnection Innovation e-Xchange (i2X) will discuss best practices, as well as research in Pennsylvania that focuses on reducing the soft costs of interconnection which is sure to benefit solar developers, electric companies, and solar owners alike.
Speakers will include--
-- Regi Sam, Utility Energy & Conservation Analyst, Bureau of Technical Utility Services, Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
-- Dexter Hendricks, Technical Advisor, BGS, Contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy
-- Dr. Ammar Qusaibaty, Technical Advisor, U.S. Department of Energy
More speakers to be announced soon!
