Calling All Volunteers! Participate In The 20th Perkiomen Stream Cleanup On April 13 In Montgomery County

On March 12, the
Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy announced it will host the 20th Annual Watershed-wide Stream Cleanup on Saturday, April 13 starting at 9:00 a.m.

To celebrate this milestone, the Conservancy hopes to make it the largest stream cleanup to date with 200 clean-up sites and a goal of 2,000 volunteers!

The scope of the event reaches the entirety of the Perkiomen Creek Watershed and surrounding areas, from Quakertown to Norristown and beyond.

General volunteers will collect trash and debris along local waterways, roads, parks, and open spaces from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

From Noon to 3:00 p.m. volunteers with pick-up trucks and trailers will take the collected trash to dumpsters that have been donated for the event.

Whether it be a plastic bottle or a piece of scrap metal, objects found in or near the creek negatively affect local waterways and the communities they serve.

Make a positive change in your local community by removing litter, reducing pollution, and protecting water quality during the Stream Clean-up!

Last year, 1,700 volunteers cleaned 143 sites and removed 1,530 bags of trash. This year is shaping up to be even bigger and we need your help to make it possible!
