PEMA: Homeowners, Renters Can Now Apply For State Disaster Recovery Assistance When Federal, Other Assistance Not Available

The
PA Emergency Management Agency published guidelines to apply for State Disaster Recovery Assistance for homeowners and renters when other federal, state, local, nongovernmental or private aid is not available to assist victims of disasters.  (formal notice)

PEMA said right now, the program is only available to residents who have been denied a Small Business Administration disaster loan and are residents of municipalities that declared a disaster in response to the Berks County and Northampton/Bucks County flooding in July, 2023.

Those potentially eligible individuals have been contacted directly by PEMA.

DRAP is a State grant program that may offer relief to eligible homeowners and renters in this Commonwealth who have suffered certain losses due to a disaster and do not qualify for a Small Business Administration disaster loan or have insurance to cover their losses
