Susquehanna River Basin Commission Holds Business Meeting Dec. 14 On Water Withdrawal Requests, Including Shale Gas Drilling In Loyalsock, Pine Creek Exceptional Value Watersheds

The
Susquehanna River Basin Commission is scheduled to hold a business meeting December 14 on water withdrawal requests-- including seven related to shale gas drilling 
in Bradford, Lycoming, Snyder and Tioga counties and the Loyalsock and Pine Creek Exceptional Value Watersheds.   (formal notice)

Public comments on agenda items can be submitted before December 11 in writing to Susquehanna River Basin Commission, 4423 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110-1788 or through the SRBC's Public Comment webpage.

The shale gas drilling water withdrawal requests include--

-- EQT ARO, LLC (Pine Creek - Exceptional Value + High Quality), Watson Township, Lycoming County, PA. Application for renewal of surface water withdrawal of up to 0.720 mgd (peak day) (Docket No. 20181202).

-- Hummel Station, LLC (Susquehanna River), Shamokin Dam Borough and Monroe Township, Snyder County, PA. Applications for renewal of surface water withdrawal of up to 10.000 mgd (peak day) and consumptive use of up to 6.500 mgd (peak day) (Docket No. 20081222).

-- Pennsylvania General Energy Company, LLC (Loyalsock Creek - Exceptional Value), Plunketts Creek Township, Lycoming County, PA. Modification to intake location and design for the surface water withdrawal (Docket No. 20200312).  [Read more here - PGE did not comply with original permit.]

-- Repsol Oil & Gas USA, LLC (Seeley Creek), Wells Township, Bradford County, PA. Application for renewal of surface water withdrawal of up to 0.750 mgd (peak day) (Docket No. 20181207).

-- Repsol Oil & Gas USA, LLC (Wyalusing Creek), Stevens Township, Bradford County, PA. Application for renewal of surface water withdrawal of up to 1.500 mgd (peak day) (Docket No. 20181208).

-- Seneca Resources Company, LLC (Cowanesque River), Nelson Township, Tioga County, PA. Application for renewal of surface water withdrawal of up to 0.533 mgd (peak day) (Docket No. 20181210).

-- Seneca Resources Company, LLC (Cowanesque River), Westfield Township, Tioga County, PA. Application for renewal of surface water withdrawal of up to 0.400 mgd (peak day) (Docket No. 20181211).
