PA Environment Digest Blog: DCNR: 3rd Fall Foliage Report Shows ‘Best Color’ Appearing In Northern Half Of Pennsylvania

On October 12, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources issued its third Weekly Fall Foliage Report showing ‘Best Color’ will cover most of the northern half of Pennsylvania the week of October 12 to 18.

Recently colder temperatures have stimulated steady change in foliage throughout the Commonwealth.

With cold to seasonable temperatures expected in the ten-day forecast, the fall color transition should follow a steady trend throughout Penn’s Woods.

The best color can be currently found in the northern half of the Keystone State, but vibrant hues are making their way southward.
