Investing in ‘blue and green zones’--trails built along waterways such as streams, rivers, creeks, and lakes– has immense potential to bring multiple climate benefits to communities in Pennsylvania.
Restoring buffers along waterways not only addresses state and federal water quality improvement goals and stormwater management requirements, but also protects habitats, increases biodiversity, and makes these natural areas more accessible to local communities.
This webinar will highlight success stories of modern “blue and green” greenway projects in central Pennsylvania, and speakers will share a holistic approach to increasing climate resiliency in these areas, and how they leveraged funding to integrate trails and waterway development.
