PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices/Opportunities To Comment - June 3

The following DEP notices were published in the
June 3 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

Conventional Well Plugging Notice

The Department of Environmental Protection gave notice in the June 3 PA Bulletin it is taking action to enforce an order against Michael Harju and Economy Natural Gas, Inc. for their failure to plug four conventional natural gas wells leaking methane in Scott Township, Allegheny County.  (June 3, 2023 PA Bulletin, page 3031Read more here.


Land Recycling/Brownfield Cleanups

-- Chesapeake Appalachia, LLC - DPH Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on the remediation of soil contaminated with ethylene glycol for a well pad in Windham Twp., Wyoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3017)

-- Coterra Energy, Inc. - F. Lippincott Well Pad 1: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater for a well pad in Brooklyn Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 3018)

-- Coterra Energy, Inc. - D. Brazitis Well Pad 1: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater for a well pad in Lenox Twp., Susquehanna County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3018)

-- CNX Gas Company, LLC - MAJ 18 Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with arsenic, aluminum, barium, boron, chromium, copper, iron, lead, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, zinc, and naphthalene for a well pad in Richhill Twp., Greene County. -- CNX Gas Company, LLC - NV 48 Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with aluminum, barium, boron, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, and zinc for a well pad in Morris Twp., Greene County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3019)


Waste Permits

-- EPP Renewable Energy, LLC - Landfill Gas Project: DEP issued WMGM055 General Permit for landfill gas project in Cumru Twp., Berks County. (PA Bulletin, page 3020)

-- SWN Production Company, LLC: DEP issued WMGR123 General Permit for storage of oil and gas liquid waste at the Preston Perkins Facility in Stevens Twp., Bradford County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3020)


Air Quality Permits

-- Blackhill Energy, LLC - Young Compressor Site: DEP issued an Air Quality Plan Approval for various air pollution sources at the site in Springfield Twp., Bradford County. (PA Bulletin, page 3021)

-- Regency Marcellus Gas Gathering, LLC - Canoe Run Compressor Station: DEP issued an Air Quality Plan Approval for various air pollution sources at the site in Mifflin Twp., Lycoming County. (PA Bulletin, page 3021)

-- Waste Management Disposal Services Of PA, Inc. - Mountain View Reclamation Landfill Replacement of Ground Flare: DEP issued an Air Quality Plan Approval for a ground flare to dispose of methane from the landfill located in Antrim and Montgomery Townships, Franklin County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3021)

-- Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC - Compressor Station 520: DEP issued an extension of the Air Quality Plan Approval to November 5, 2023 for the facility in Mifflin Twp., Lycoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3022)

-- Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC - Compressor Station 520: DEP issued revised Title V Air Quality Permit for the facility in Mifflin Twp., Lycoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3022)

-- Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC - Compressor Station 517: DEP issued revised Title V Air Quality Permit for the facility in Mifflin Twp., Lycoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3022)


Erosion & Sedimentation Permits

-- Coterra Energy, Inc.: DEP issued a Chapter 102 permit for a project impacting Shelp Creek in Jessup Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 3027)

-- Geopetro, LLC - Petrick Bea Well Pad A: DEP issued a Chapter 102 permit for a project impacting North Fork Little Beaver Creek (High Quality) and Brush Run (High Quality) in South Beaver Twp., Beaver County. (PA Bulletin, page 3027)

-- Hyperion Midstream, LLC - Pipeline Project: DEP issued a Chapter 102 permit for a project impacting Thorn Run (High Quality) and Steels Run (High Quality) in Washington Twp., Westmoreland County. (PA Bulletin, page 3027)

-- EQM Gathering OPCO, LLC - Pipeline Project: DEP issued a Chapter 102 permit for a project impacting Harts Run in Aleppo Twp., Greene County.   (PA Bulletin, page 3027)
