PUC Electric Vehicle Working Group Recommends Proceeding With EV Charging Rate Design Statement

On March 29, the
Electric Vehicle Rate Design Working Group recommended the Public Utility Commission move ahead with development of an EV charging rate design policy statement.

The working group was established by an order of the PUC in response to a petition filed by ChargEVC-PA requesting the Commission initiate a proceeding that would result in the issuance of a Policy Statement on electric utility rate design for electric vehicle (EV) charging in Pennsylvania.

The work group report included three main recommendations--

-- The working group recommends that the Commission proceed with drafting a proposed policy statement concerning EV charging rate design.

-- The working group recommends that the proposed policy statement consider the topics contained in the comments informally filed and summarized in this document.

-- The working group recommends that Commission staff utilize the informal working group, as necessary, when drafting the proposed policy statement for Commission review
