DEP Posts First Invitation For Bids For Plugging 79 Conventional Natural Gas Wells In Allegheny, Butler, McKean, Potter Counties Under Federally-Funded Program

On September 30, the Department of Environmental Protection posted the first five contracts for plugging 79 orphan conventional natural gas wells funded by the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on the
BidExpress.com website.

DEP estimates the value of each of the contracts is from $1 million to $5 million.

The plugging contracts posted and mandatory pre-bid meetings include--

-- Allegheny County, Moon & Ohio Townships, Sewickley Heights Borough (OOGM FS22-1): Plugging 10 orphan natural gas wells. Mandatory pre-bid meeting October 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Avonworth Community Park (498 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh PA  15237. Estimated value: $1 million to $5 million.

-- Butler County, Concord Township (OOGM FS22-12): Plugging 24 orphan natural gas wells. Mandatory pre-bid meeting October 11 at 10:00 a.m. at North Washington Rodeo, 2225 Oneida Valley Road, Petrolia PA  16050.  Estimated value: $1 million to $5 million.

-- McKean County, Eldred Township (OOGM FS22-17): Plugging 22 orphan natural gas wells. Mandatory pre-bid meeting October 12 at 9:00 a.m. at Eldred Township Fire Company, 84 Winfall Road, Eldred PA 16731.  Estimated value: $1 million to $5 million.

-- McKean County, Otto Township (OOGM FS22-9): Plugging 15 orphan natural gas wells. Mandatory pre-bid meeting October 13 at 9:00 a.m. at Otto Township VFD Station 9, 118 R L Sweitzer Drive, Duke Center, PA 16729. Estimated value: $1 million to $5 million.

-- Potter County, Abbot & Eulalia Townships (OOGM FS22-11): Plugging 8 orphan natural gas wells. Mandatory pre-bid meeting October 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Cherry Springs State Park (4639 Cherry Springs Road, Coudersport PA 16915. Estimated value: $1 million to $5 million.
