In an effort to provide these sites for local pollinators, the Pike County Conservation District obtained grant funding to design and plant an educational pollinator garden in the Dingman Township Park.
The garden will be unveiled at a special event on September 17!
This event will include a short presentation, a tour of the garden and information on planting for pollinators, so we can all work together to provide for these important creatures of our community!
What’s the Buzz About Pollinators? will be held on Saturday, September 17 starting at 9:00 a.m., at Dingman Township Park, on Log Tavern Road, Milford, PA 18337.
The pollinator presentation will take place in the pavilion, with a tour of the garden, and unveiling to follow.
There will be a farmer’s market in the park at the time of the event, with many local pollinated products for sale!
After the unveiling there will be an optional hike around the park’s beautiful trails with Conservation District Program Manager, Ellen Enslin.
Sunscreen, bug spray, and hiking shoes are encouraged.
Financial and other support for the Dingman Township Park Pollinator Garden has been provided by the Department of Environmental Protection’s 2022 Environmental Education Grants Program.
Registration for this event is free but requested by September 10, 2022. To register and for more information, visit the Pike County Conservation District website or Facebook page.
Questions should be directed to Devan George at PCCD, 570-226-8220 or send email to: dgeorge@pikpa.org.
