Penn State Extension Simple Solutions For Your Eroding Backyard Stream Receives National Recognition

By Susan Boser, Extension Educator

Members of Penn State Extension's Water Team were recognized at the 2022 Association of Natural Resource Extension Professionals annual conference with a Gold Award for the publication Simple Solutions for Your Eroding Backyard Stream.

The conference was held in Kalamazoo, Michigan, from May 31-June 3, 2022.

The publication was developed to be used as part of Extension's Backyard Stream Repair Program which has been presented to over 600 people via a series of webinars. Each webinar participant received a copy of the publication.

The goal of the Penn State Extension Backyard Stream Repair Program is to educate residents on healthy stream conditions and ways to improve their own backyard stream, striving to empower landowners to make stream improvements that would also better water quality throughout Pennsylvania and downstream places.

Congratulations to the following who were honored for their involvement in the award-winning publication: Jennifer Fetter, Danielle Rhea, Susan Boser, Kristen Koch, Mary Wilson, Julianne Schieffer, Vincent Cotrone, Amanda Grube, Amanda Kirsten, and Jenny Walker.
