PA Resources Council Hosts 2 Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Locations In Allegheny County In June

In June, the
PA Resources Council will host two Traveling Glass Recycling Bin locations in Allegheny county to provide free glass recycling services.

This innovative program provides residents with a higher quality glass recycling option than typical curbside programs, ensuring that glass deposited into the bin meets the highest standards and can be fully recycled.

The weeklong recycling events will be held--

-- June 11-16: Findlay Township Public Works Garage, 1058 Clinton Road, Clinton, PA 15026 hosted by Findlay Township

-- June 18-23: Boyce Park Ski Lodge parking lot hosted by Allegheny County

“The bin visits various locations on a weekly basis from Saturday through Thursday, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and provides residents with a safe method for recycling glass while eliminating the need to interact with other individuals,” according to Ashley DiGregorio, PRC Recycling Markets and Grants Manager.

Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars and jugs of all colors (no color sorting required).  Containers should be empty and rinsed, with lids and labels still on.  Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site.

Last year, PRC’s glass recycling program enabled 30,000 households in western Pennsylvania to drop of more than one million pounds of bottles, jars and jugs for recycling.

PRC’s Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program is sponsored by Owens-Illinois, Inc. and CAP Glass and is made possible through a partnership with Michael Brothers Hauling & Recycling.
