Somerset Conservancy Adds 273 Acres To Kimberly Run Natural Area

The Somerset Conservancy has added 273 acres of land from the Menser Farm to the Kimberly Run Natural Area in Somerset Township, Somerset County, expanding it to 646 acres.

Outdoor enthusiasts now have permanent access to this natural area, which is within three miles of downtown Somerset.

It hosts biologically diverse older growth forests, bogs, a trail system and outdoor education facilities.

Somerset Conservancy is grateful for the efforts and financial support from regional conservation groups, including a bridge loan from the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s Colcom Revolving Fund for Local Land Trusts, and many generous individuals, businesses and outdoors groups.

For more information on programs, initiatives, upcoming events and how you can protect land, visit the Somerset Conservancy website.
