DCED PA Grade Crude [Oil] Development Advisory Council Meets Dec. 16 On Road Spreading Of Conventional Drilling Wastewater, Other Issues

DCED’s
PA Grade Crude [Oil] Development Advisory Council is scheduled to meet on December 16 to, among other issues, hear an update on issues related to road spreading of conventional oil and gas drilling wastewater.

The discussion on road spreading oil and gas wastewater includes--

-- Update on most recent Penn State studies on the environmental impacts of road spreading [a new study is due out this month - Read more here];

-- Update on Coproduct Determinations requirements that allow road spreading of oil and gas wastewater [Read more here]; and

-- Identification of pollution incidents associated with road spreading.

Also on the agenda is a discussion of the Council’s comments on DEP’s draft proposed regulations updating environmental standards covering conventional oil and gas wells; well plugging provisions of the Bipartisan Federal Infrastructure Act and DEP’s related contractor survey and other items.
