EPA said as of October 25, 2021, the combined annual green power use of EPA’s Top 30 College & University Partners amounts to nearly 3.8 billion kilowatt-hours of green power, which is equivalent to the annual electricity use of more than 351,000 average American homes.
Here are more details on the Pennsylvania universities--
-- Carnegie Mellon University: By purchasing third-party Certified, renewable energy certificates from national wind sources, the University receives 100 percent of its electricity from renewable sources.
-- Penn State University: Penn State entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement to purchase 100 percent of the electricity generated from a solar energy farm in Franklin County to supply 25 percent of the University’s statewide electricity needs.
-- Temple University: 26.9 percent of Temple University’s electricity use comes from renewable energy.
