Individuals and small businesses are welcome. No proof of residency is required, and there is no limit to the number of tires or wheels any one person may bring.
Event organizers ask that visitors remain in their cars at all times during the unloading process and observe social distance.
Disposal fees for auto and light truck tires up to 18” off rim are $3 each; $5 if on rim. SUV tires over 18” off rim are $5 each. Tractor trailer tires up to 22.5” and farm tractor rear tires up to 75 lbs. are $20 each, but no rims please. Farm tractor tires over 75 lbs. are priced according to weight.
Community tire collections are offered as a public service to provide proper and affordable disposal of scrap tires, thus reducing the risk of Zika and West Nile viruses by eliminating stagnant water where mosquitoes breed.
Over 55,000 scrap tires have been properly disposed through the Community Tire Collection Program since its inception in 2004.
The Independence Conservancy is a nonprofit environmental stewardship organization active in Beaver, Washington and Allegheny Counties.
